About this product
The Shelly Wave 1PM is a single-channel Z-Wave relay with power metering, rated 16 A at 240 V, designed to sit behind the existing wall switch on a retrofit job. Like every Z-Wave device, it needs a Z-Wave controller or hub on the network to operate. Shelly doesn't include one, and that's normal for the protocol, not a shortfall of this unit.
It reports power, voltage and current back through whatever Z-Wave gateway it's paired to. Home Assistant, Fibaro, Homey, SmartThings (via the Shelly Wave edge driver), Vera/Ezlo, Cozify and others are all named as compatible on Shelly's documentation. It's a genuine 800-series Z-Wave chip with repeater capability, so it also strengthens the mesh for other Z-Wave devices nearby.
This is the AU/NZ variant (part number QNSW-001P16AU), operating on 919.8 MHz, the correct frequency for Australia and New Zealand.
