About this product
The Shelly BLU Remote Control ZB is a battery-powered handheld remote with 4 channels, a scroll wheel and gesture sensing (accelerometer), aimed at controlling lights, blinds and relays from wherever you are in the room. Multiple press types per channel: single, long, double, triple and beyond. Give a good spread of commands from 1 small unit.
Out of the box it pairs directly over Bluetooth or Zigbee to a receiving device with default command mappings, no app required. To bring it into the Shelly Smart Control app for scenes, automations or remote access away from home, it needs a gateway: either a dedicated Shelly BLU Gateway, or any Shelly Plus, Pro, Gen3 or Gen4 device (excluding sensor-only units) acting as the bridge. Without a gateway, range and function are limited to direct pairing with whatever it's talking to: typical Bluetooth/Zigbee range, not whole-house coverage.
It runs on 2× AAA batteries rated for roughly 2 years, and its Zigbee radio also means it can join a Zigbee mesh network as an alternative to Bluetooth pairing, depending on the receiving hardware.
