Shelly Plus Uni wiring example: Need a temperature reading from a tank, roof space or fridge

Need a temperature reading from a tank, roof space or fridge?

A DS18B20 probe on the Shelly Plus Uni gives temperature in the app with alerts, and the 2 dry contacts can switch a fan or heater on the reading. Diagram: Shelly.

Shelly Plus Uni wiring example: Low-voltage irrigation controller with app scheduling

Low-voltage irrigation controller with app scheduling?

The Shelly Plus Uni dry contacts switch 24 V solenoids from a plug-pack, with schedules in the app and a rain-skip rule. Diagram: Shelly.

Shelly Plus Uni wiring example: Humidity and temperature in a cellar or grow room

Humidity and temperature in a cellar or grow room?

A DHT22 sensor on the Shelly Plus Uni reports both, and the outputs can run an exhaust fan or dehumidifier from a rule. Diagram: Shelly.

Shelly Plus Uni wiring example: Skip watering when it has rained

Skip watering when it has rained?

A rain sensor on the Shelly Plus Uni input holds off the irrigation outputs automatically. Diagram: Shelly.

Shelly Plus Uni wiring example: Count pulses from a water or gas meter

Count pulses from a water or gas meter?

The Shelly Plus Uni counts reed-switch pulses from a meter and shows consumption in the app. Diagram: Shelly.

Shelly Plus Uni wiring example: Flow rate on a pump or tank fill

Flow rate on a pump or tank fill?

A pulse flow meter on the Shelly Plus Uni input gives litres per minute and totals, and an output can stop the pump at a target. Diagram: Shelly.

Shelly Plus Uni wiring example: Tank level on the phone

Tank level on the phone?

A TL136 level sensor on the Shelly Plus Uni analogue input shows tank level as a percentage, with a low-level alert and a pump output. Diagram: Shelly.

Switch on at dusk without a timer that drifts?

An LDR on the Shelly Plus Uni analogue input reads ambient light, and a rule switches lights or a sign at a set level. Diagram: Shelly.

Key features

✓

Analog and digital inputs: 1 analog, 2 digital, plus 1-Wire for temperature probes.

✓

Pulse counting: reads utility or flow meters.

✓

2 dry-contact outputs: potential-free, for driving external relays, contactors or low-voltage circuits.

✓

Low-voltage only: 8 to 24 V AC / 9 to 28 V DC supply; not a mains switching device.

✓

No hub needed: Wi-Fi direct with app control; wiring differs from the original Uni, so check the diagram before you buy.

About this product

The Shelly Plus Uni is the flexible option for jobs that don't fit a standard relay or sensor: it's a low-voltage module (8-24 VAC / 9-28 VDC / 5 VDC) with 2 solid-state relay outputs on potential-free contacts, 2 digital inputs, 1 analog input, a pulse counter, and 1-Wire support for up to 5 DS18B20 temperature probes or a single DHT22. It's built to bolt smart control and monitoring onto older or unusual equipment rather than switch a mains circuit directly.

The new pulse-counting feature is the standout addition over the original Shelly Uni, useful for reading utility meters or flow meters that output pulses, giving genuine usage monitoring rather than just on/off state. If you are replacing an original Shelly Uni, note that the Plus Uni's inputs are wired differently, so it is not a drop-in swap.

Being a low-voltage device, the switching ratings are modest, 30 V / 300 mA per output. This is a control and sensing module, not a load-switching relay for mains appliances.

Model: SNSN-0043X

Install note

Low-voltage wiring only: confirm supply and load compatibility before install; not a mains relay, and not wired the same as the original Shelly Uni.
