About this product
The Shelly Dimmer Gen3 turns a standard light switch into a fully controllable dimmer without changing how the room looks or feels. It mounts behind the existing wall plate, works as a trailing-edge dimmer, and, unlike a lot of dimmers on the market, can run without a neutral wire (the Shelly Bypass for Dimmer, sold separately, is required if the connected load is under 20 W).
Brightness, transition speed, night mode and warm-up settings are all adjustable from the app, so lights ramp on gently instead of snapping to full brightness. When wired with neutral, it also reports voltage, current and consumption; without neutral, dimming still works but power figures are not available.
It runs standalone over Wi-Fi with no hub, supports scripting and schedules on the device itself, and covers a wide range of load types: dimmable LED up to 150 W, incandescent and halogen up to 200 W, and low-voltage transformers up to 200 VA.
