About this product
The kit converts an existing roller blind to motorised control without replacing the blind: slide the motor into the tube in place of the chain mechanism, fit the supplied crown and adapters, and remount. Once paired you get app and voice control, schedules that follow your routine, and scenes with other Matter devices. Closing the blinds against summer heat or winter cold also does real insulation work. Apple Home users additionally get Adaptive Shading and on-device schedules through the Eve app.
Fit is the deciding factor. This small kit needs a bare tube (without fabric) of 25 to 30 mm outer diameter and a blind at least 570 mm wide; motor torque is 0.5 Nm. IKEA Fridans roller blinds are compatible with this kit. Tubes between 30 and 38 mm are not served by either the small or the large kit. Measure the tube before ordering: for 38 to 51 mm tubes, choose the large-tube kit.
Power is a built-in rechargeable battery charged over USB-C, so no wiring is needed. It connects over Thread and needs a Matter controller with a Thread border router. Supported platforms are Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings; Home Assistant is not supported. No Eve cloud, no registration, no tracking.
